Personal:
Since my election to the Charles County Board of
Education in 2002, I've been blessed to be married to my wife, Candace (Colein).
We have two beautiful daughters, Faith (2), and Hanna (1).
In 2006 I became the Executive Director for Habitat For Humanity of Charles Co. Along with my responsibilities on the School Board, I work full-time in Charles County to help families secure homeownership.
General:
For the first three years after graduating
college, Mark Crawford was a teacher
at Southern Maryland Christian Academy in White Plains. He taught US
Government, Latin, SAT Preparation, Elementary P. E., and Middle School Math courses. In 2002 Mark was nominated and accepted into the Who's Who
Among American Teachers.
Mark graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999 from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. During college, he was a member of the NCAA Division 1 national collegiate championship Debate Team in 1995-1996. He was high school Valedictorian at Riverdale Baptist School in 1995.
Mark coached volleyball and soccer for nine seasons between two schools and also for a YMCA team while in college. Mark has also been a referee for youth soccer for 17 years.
Mark is 28 years old, and with the exception of a few
months, has lived his whole life in Charles County, growing up in Bryantown and
now living in Charlotte Hall.
Mark has always had a love for children, and brings that passion and energy to our
School Board. He is the legislative liaison and is considered the "go
to" board member for curriculum matters.
